Search Chips - A Faster Way to Find it!
Locate your Google Drive files faster by using search chips, a new way to quickly refine your search. In the Google Drive search box, type in a keyword and then hit enter. A row of filtering buttons (search chips) will appear at the top of the results page. Using the chips, you can quickly filter by location, file type, people, last modified, etc. These prebuilt filters are a game changer when it comes to quickly finding that Google Slides file owned by Mary Ellen Wilson about Tech Buddies… or whatever it is you’re searching for.
Untitled Be Gone! - Speed Clean Your Google Drive
As you probably know, when you don’t name a file in Drive, it is automatically (and ironically) named Untitled. Many times these files are just drafts that should be deleted - but who has the time to open each file and check it? You do by using this quick way to pair down your unwanted files. First, search for the keyword “Untitled” and then use the People search chip to see files owned by me. If your drive is like mine, you will see an embarrassingly long list of files that you probably don’t need anymore. To quickly inspect the file without opening it, click the file name once so that it is highlighted and then press the P key on your keyboard. This will open a preview of the file so that you can easily determine if you still need the file. Click the trash can to delete the file and move on to the next!
