Around the district, students and staff have been taking steps to keep their HTPS accounts secure by changing their passwords. We’ve been traveling around the district assisting with this process. Today is the last day of our month-long “Leave No Password Unchanged” campaign and we are happy to share the following statistics.
So far, over 99% of our students have changed their passwords. Each school handled this process differently. Our K4 students had their new passwords automatically generated and reset. Parents/Guardians and teachers assisted students with finding and learning their new passwords. Students at Auten Road and the Middle School were allowed to self-select their new passwords. Teachers and members of the Tech Team assisted students with the password reset process during Study Hall periods. Hillsborough High School students were also allowed to self-select their passwords and Mr. Smart shared password change directions via email so students could reset their passwords when it was convenient for them.
So far, over 88% of our staff members have changed their passwords. If you are reading this and haven’t changed your password yet, there is still a little time (just a few hours, actually!) to change your password.
