Effortless Scheduling: Google Calendar Appointment Scheduling for the Busy Educator

If trying to manage signups for parent meetings or student extra help feels like a daunting task, Google Calendar has a built in feature to make your life easier… appointment scheduling! Google’s original tool Appointment Slots is going away on July 18th, but their already existing upgrade (Appointment Scheduling)  has you covered. Keep reading to learn more about this time saving tool, Appointment Scheduling!

What it is?

Google Calendar Appointment Scheduling lets teachers create a booking page where students (or parents) can schedule meetings directly on the teacher's calendar. Teachers set their availability, appointment duration, and any buffer time needed between meetings. This frees teachers from the back-and-forth of finding a time to meet and keeps their calendar organized.

How does it work?

1. Access and Create:  On a computer, open Google Calendar and click "Create" followed by "Appointment schedule."

2. Fill in the Details: Give your schedule a clear title, set the appointment duration (e.g., 15 minutes, 30 minutes), and choose the days and times you're available.

3. Customize (Optional):  Add a meeting location (virtual or physical), a short description, and buffer time between appointments if needed.

4. Share the Magic: Click "Save" and then access the appointment schedule on your calendar. You'll find a link to the booking page you can share with students (or parents).
